Mob shot with water cannons

Busan - South Korean police fired water cannons to keep stone-throwing anti-globalisation protesters away from leaders at the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec)conference on Friday.
A group of about 100 protesters broke away from a large anti-Apec demonstration and tried to punch through police lines about a kilometre from the summit venue, said witnesses.
Police responded by firing bursts from three water cannons.
Chanting anti-US slogans and waving colourful banners reading "No APEC, No Bush" and "Terrorist Bush Go Home", about 10 000 protesters, some armed with metal pipes, were headed for a confrontation with thousands of riot police.
Police said they expected a crowd of up to 30 000, and used steel barriers and cargo containers to block off roads around the summit venue. Riot police in full body armour wielding clubs were stationed at key junctions.
